Ingredients
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (5 grams) instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon cane sugar
- 2 tablespoons warm water
2 tablespoons (28 grams) Organic Valley Salted Butter
1/2 cup Organic Valley Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- 223 grams (1 3/4 cups) all purpose flour
- 28 grams (2 tablespoons) cane sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons fine sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Directions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, add the yeast, cane sugar, and warm water. Mix together and allow to sit for 5 minutes or until bubbly.
In a small pot, add the butter, buttermilk, and honey and put over low/medium heat. Stir until the butter and honey are completely melted, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Add the flour, cane sugar, sea salt, garlic powder, and chili powder to the yeast mixture. Then add the milk mixture on top. Mix on low until a smooth dough forms, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Transfer to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise for 1 to 3 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the hot dogs in half.
- Lightly flour a work surface. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to 15x5-inches. Cut that into 12 triangles.
- Wrap each hot dog half in the triangle and roll it up. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- To make the topping: Add the honey and water to a small dish and microwave for about 10 seconds until the honey has melted so it is able to combine with the water.
- Using a pastry brush, brush the tops of the dough and hot dogs with the honey mixture. Sprinkle the dough with poppy seeds.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as mustard or ketchup.
