Organic Prairie Launches Case Ready Pork Line with Five Varieties

Organic Prairie is significantly expanding its case ready meat offerings with the introduction of five varieties of case ready pork products, including:

  • Boneless center cut loin chops: 10 – 13 oz. vacuum pack, six packs per case
  • Boneless pork loin roast: 16 – 19 oz. vacuum pack, six per case
  • Pork tenderloin: 14 – 17 oz. vacuum pack, six per case
  • Country style ribs: 10 – 13 oz. vacuum pack, six per case
  • Fresh ground pork: 1 lb. vacuum pack, eight per case

"These new offerings come from heirloom variety organic pork, providing a high quality and rich, juicy pork with a delicious difference you can actually taste," said Tedd Heilmann, Organic Prairie general manager.

The case ready pork comes individually labeled and vacuum packed for extended shelf life, without the use of carbon monoxides. Its small case packs are for improved inventory management. "We'll also make them available in a variety of pack sizes for foodservice distributors," Heilmann said.

The introduction of the pork line almost doubles Organic Prairie's case ready meat offerings. "We also provide seven case ready beef varieties: premium New York Strip steak, premium ribeye steak, premium sirloin steak, premium boneless chuck roast, premium beef strips, and fresh 85% and 90% lean ground beef," Heilmann added.

Delicious and safe meats come from animals raised according to the most strict organic production standards on the independent family farms that are part of the Organic Prairie cooperative.

"We adhere to the highest standards of animal welfare," Heilmann noted. "Our hogs are raised unconfined and bedded on thick straw, given plenty of room to roam and access to fresh air and sunshine."

The farmers who supply Organic Prairie were among the nation's first to produce meat without the use of antibiotics, synthetic hormones or pesticides. They insisted on third-party organic meat certification long before federal organic standards were established and were the first in the industry to ban animal by-products from their cattle's diet. They played a vital role in shaping federal organic meat certification standards—the strictest in the industry.
