Organic Prairie Introduces Two Pepperoni Products: By the Stick or by the Slice
Organic Prairie today expands its product line to include two varieties of pepperoni—by the stick or by the slice.
Both varieties are uncured and certified organic. Each approximately 5 lb. pack of slices will include 256 slices, two packs per case. Sticks will each be approximately 2.5 lbs., 20 packs per case.
Made from Organic Prairie's humanely raised organic beef and pork, the pepperonis feature no synthetic nitrates or nitrites and are ideal for restaurants and delis seeking to offer tasty, organic pizzas, sub sandwiches or other creative Italian-flavored dishes.
"There's an authentic Old World flavor to our new pepperoni," said Tedd Heilmann, Organic Prairie general manager. "We feel that's due in large part to the fact that the most delicious meats come from animals raised according to very strict organic production standards on the family farms that cooperatively own Organic Prairie."
Organic Prairie follows a seven-step "safety net," a rigorous code of conduct that ensures their meat is as healthy and wholesome as possible. This includes testing all Organic Prairie meat for bacteria before it leaves their processing facilities, Heilmann added.
"In addition, our hogs and cattle are raised unconfined and bedded on thick straw, given plenty of room to roam with access to fresh air and sunshine, and our cattle graze regularly on certified organic pasture," he said.
Organic Prairie's hogs and cattle are given 100% organic feed, with no animal byproducts. They are never given antibiotics or hormones.
